Date: February 16, 2020

Location: Muscat, Oman

Petroleum Development Oman has signed an EPC services contract with OmEPC, a joint partnership of four Omani contractors: Value Engineering Centre (VEC), Hamad Engineering Services (HES), Precision Engineering Consultancy (PEC), and Rock International.

The phased contract is part of the Oil and Gas industry’s In-Country Value (ICV) Blueprint Strategy launched in December 2013, supporting job creation, training, and commercial and investment opportunities for local businesses.

The USD 26 million contract covers engineering services in the first three years. Upon successful delivery, it will expand to include engineering and procurement for another three years, with construction management added at the end of the sixth year.

The scope also includes Production Systems Optimisation, Small Project Design, Asset Verification, Process Engineering Flow Scheme (PEFS) conversion works, and FEED for smaller and less complex projects. There is potential to extend the scope further to include maintenance and service activities, shutdown management, construction project management, and EPC contracting for medium-sized projects.
